Connect your Homey

Connect your Homey

Tiledash has no passwords of its own. You log in with the same Athom account you use for Homey, then pick the Homey you want dashboards for.

Log in with your Athom account

Open my.tiledash.app and choose Log in with Homey. You are sent to Athom to log in and to allow Tiledash access to your Homey. You type your password at Athom, never into Tiledash.

Tiledash asks Athom for permission to:

  • read your devices, rooms (zones), flows, moods, energy data and Insights history;
  • control devices, start flows and set moods;
  • read your favourites from the Homey app.

Two permissions are optional. The first lets widgets follow a Homey Logic variable, the second lets the Weather widget use the location set on your Homey. Without them, everything else keeps working.

If you cancel at Athom, nothing is shared and you land back on the login page.

Revoking access

You can take Tiledash’s access away in your Athom account. The dashboards you made stay in Tiledash, but they can no longer read or control your Homey until you log in again.

To remove everything instead, open Account › Account and choose Delete account…. Tiledash deletes your dashboards, wall panels, themes and recorded history seven days later. Log in again before then to keep your account. Your Homey itself is never touched. Download your data on the same tab gives you a zip of what Tiledash keeps, first.

Choose your Homey

The first time you log in, Tiledash shows the Homeys on your Athom account under Choose your Homey. Each one lists its name and model, such as Homey Pro or Homey Self-Hosted Server. Select one and choose Connect.

If the list is empty, Athom did not share a Homey with Tiledash. Choose Log in again and make sure you allow access to your Homey.

Right after connecting, the wizard for your first dashboard opens with Home already picked. Your dashboards walks through it.

Later, Account › Account lists your Homeys. Show this one switches between them, and Add a Homey connects another while your plan has room.

How live values reach your screen

Your browser talks to your Homey directly. Tiledash’s servers are not in the middle of the values you watch or the taps you make.

  • At home, the browser uses your local network, with a secure connection to the Homey.
  • Away from home, it uses Athom’s secure connection to the Homey.

You do not choose between them. The browser takes the faster local route when it can and falls back to Athom’s when it cannot. A tablet on your wall keeps showing live values from the Homey, and the connection shows as a small dot rather than a banner.

To make this work, Tiledash’s server arranges a session between your browser and your Homey. The session stays in the browser’s memory while the page is open, and widgets never see it.

Share links and paired screens work differently, because the guest or the tablet has no login. Tiledash carries their values and taps, checking each one on the server. Sharing and paired screens explains how.

What Tiledash stores

  • Your login with Athom, encrypted, so Tiledash can keep working with your Homey. It never stores your Athom password.
  • A copy of your Homey’s layout: devices, rooms, flows, moods and your favourites. Dashboards, suggestions and checks on what you can set depend on it, and it updates itself when your Homey changes.
  • Your dashboards, wall panels, themes, tile styles and settings.
  • History you choose to record. Tiledash does not record readings unless you switch recording on for them. Live values are shown, not stored.

Recording is how you build a history: open a device on the Devices page and switch on Record for a reading. Your dashboards covers it in more detail.

Free and Pro limits

Your name at the bottom of the sidebar (on a phone, your initials at the top right) opens the account page, and its Plan tab shows how much of each limit you use. Going back from Pro to Free never deletes anything. What goes over a limit is paused and comes back with Pro. Pricing lists everything the plans include.
