Busy now

Only what is busy right now: the washer running, the car charging.

Lists just the things that are busy at this moment, each with its own moving icon, its name and a line of detail: since when it started, the power it uses, the time left, or a few words such as the track playing. It is made for a screen you glance at, like a sleep screen at night.

A washer, dryer or dishwasher counts as busy while it draws power, a charger while it charges, a speaker while it plays. For anything else you say what makes it busy. New items fade in. When something finishes it can stay as Done for a while, so you notice it. With nothing busy the tile says “All quiet” or shows nothing at all. An item you gave a tap is a button.

Change these in the tile’s settings: Configure… on the tile in edit mode.

What to watch

Appliances

Add the devices to watch (or something that isn’t a device, like a Logic variable), up to 16. For each one you say what tells it is busy and what the detail line shows (since when, power now, time left, in words or nothing). You can set its name, its icon and what a tap on it does, and how long it stays once it finishes.

After it finishes

A choice

What happens when a busy thing finishes. A single item can have its own choice, in its own settings.

Default: Done 15 min

  • Leave

    It leaves the list at once.

  • Done 15 min Default

    It stays, marked Done, for 15 minutes. Long enough to notice that the washer has finished.

  • Done 2 h

    It stays, marked Done, for 2 hours, for things you may not get to straight away.

When nothing is busy

    A check mark and “All quiet”.

  • Show nothing

    Nothing at all, not even the tile’s card, so a row on a sleep screen disappears.

    In even columns, as many as fit the width. Neat when several things are busy.

  • A row (it wraps)

    In a row that wraps to the next line when it runs out of room. Items keep their natural width.

  • Cards Default

    Wide cards with the icon at the left and the name and detail beside it.

  • Upright cards

    Upright cards: the icon on top, the name and detail under it, centred. Good for a row of a few.

  • Chips

    Small pills with a small icon and the name. The most items in the least room.

Whether each item has a card behind it.

Default: A background

    A soft card behind each item, so it stands out as an item.

  • Nothing

    Nothing, only the icon and the words. For a sleep screen, or when the tile has no card of its own.
