Flow

One tap starts a Homey flow, and the tile says whether it did.

Fits
Any dashboard: it isn’t tied to one device
Size
2 × 2 tiles, from 1 × 1 to 6 × 4

Pick a flow when you add the tile and the whole tile becomes its button. It is a bold block in the dashboard’s accent colour, with an icon and the flow’s name.

Under the name it says Tap to start. Tapping shows Starting…, then Done, or Didn’t start if Homey refused it, when the block turns red and shakes. A flow that is switched off in Homey, or that can’t be started by hand, is greyed out and says why.

Options

Change these in the tile’s settings: Configure… on the tile in edit mode.

Content

Label

Text

The name on the button. Left empty, it uses the flow’s name from Homey. Handy for a long name like “Evening: lights, blinds and heating”.

Up to 40 characters

Icon

An icon

The icon on the button. A flow icon unless you pick another.

Show

A choice

What the button shows.

Default: Icon and name

  • Icon and name Default

The icon and the name, with the state under the name.

  • Name only

Only the name, for a button that needs the words more than the picture.

  • Icon only

Only a large icon, for a small tile. Anyone using a screen reader still hears the name.

Layout

A choice

How the icon and the name sit on the button, when it shows both.

Default: Stacked

  • Stacked Default

The icon at the top and the name at the bottom, like a card. The best look for a tall tile.

  • Centred

Both in the middle of the tile.

  • In a row

The icon and the name side by side. A low tile switches to this by itself.

Colour

A colour

The colour of the button. Until you choose one, it takes the dashboard’s accent colour.

Ask before starting

On or off

Asks “Start …?” before the flow runs. Use it for a flow that is a nuisance to start by accident, like opening the garage or turning everything off.
