Media player

What a speaker or TV is playing, with play, skip, volume and power.

Fits
Speaker, TV, Set-top Box, Media Player and Amplifier with playing
Also shows
Track, Artist, Album, Duration, Position, Next, Previous, Set volume, Volume up, Volume down, Volume muted, Turned on and now_playing_app
Size
4 × 2.5 tiles, from 2 × 2 to 8 × 6

Shows the track and artist (or the app, on a TV box), the album art, and how far along the track is. The controls are the ones the device has: play and pause, previous and next, a volume slider (or minus and plus for a box that can only step), mute, and a power button, which is the only control left while a TV is off.

A paused speaker keeps its last track, dimmed. Smaller tiles show less: a square tile drops the artwork, the volume and the progress, and a small one keeps the name and one big play button. Wide tiles put the artwork beside the controls, tall ones above them.

Behind it

A choice

What fills the card behind the player.

Default: The album art, blurred

  • The album art, blurred Default

A blurred copy of the album art tints the whole card, strongest while it plays and fainter when paused. It looks lively next to calm tiles.

  • Nothing

Nothing: the card keeps the colour of the theme, like the tiles beside it. Pick this when the tinted card clashes with the rest of the dashboard.

Taps

The tile

What a tap does

What tapping the tile does. It can open the device’s details, a dashboard (as a page or a popup) or a flow. Until you choose, it does nothing.
